Here I’ll be showing my DIY XGA video projector in conjunction with the rest of my living room home theater setup. LCD’s native resolution is 1024×768 and it only supports VGA input. GameCube is connected through a ViewSonic NextVision N4 video processor with Composite, S-Video and RF inputs (using S-Video cables for the ‘cube). Projected screen size is around 100 inches. Projector bulbs are US a pop and last around a month with pretty heavy (ab)use. The wooden box was done with the help of my uncle. Enjoy!

Sony Grand WEGA KDF-50E2000 50-Inch 3LCD Rear Projection Television

I can’t speak of the picture quality etc b/c our tv broke within 2 days of setting it up.

We recently moved and bought new tvs for our new house. We bought several different brands and have had no problems except for this Panasonic. This tv worked for approximately 2 days before all the sudden dying after my husband set up a universal remote.

My husband called Panasonic customer service and, after a lengthly conversation, set up a repair. (Because it was such a recent purchase, we’d have hoped that Panasonic would have just send us a new tv and let us return th...

Figure Of Merit Night Vision

On 09 3, 2010, in Activevision, by Admin

Generations
The classification below was initially introduced by the US manufacturers through the US government. European manufacturers do not abide by it.
Generation 0
The first night vision devices were introduced by the German army as early as 1939. The first devices were being developed by AEG starting in 1935. By the end of World War II, the German army had equipped approximately 50 Panther tanks, which saw combat on both the Eastern and Western Fronts. The “Vampir” man-portable system for infantrymen was being used with Sturmgewehr 44 assault rifles. Parallel development of night vision systems occurred in the USA. The M1 and M3 infrared night sighting devices, also known as the “sniperscope” or “snooperscope”, were introduced by the US Army in World War II, and also used in the Korean War, to assist snipers. They were active devices, using a large infrared light source to illuminate targets. Their image intensifier tubes function using an anode and an S-1 photocathode, made primarily of silver, caesium, and oxygen to accelerate the electrons.
Generation 1 (GEN I)
An M16A1 rifle fitted with the AN/PVS-2 Starlight scope.
Soviet NSPU 3.5x Night Vision Scope
First generation passive devices, introduced during the Vietnam War, were an adaptation of earlier active GEN 0 technology, and rely on ambient light instead of an infrared light source. Using an S-20 photocathode, their image intensifie...
